Job Overview

We are currently looking for an experienced Product or Project Engineer to join our Case Goods team in Holland.

 

As a Product or Project Engineer, you will:

 

Update and improve an existing product line in Case Goods for your first project. Ensure production of profitable product desirable by customers.  Responsible for assigned product line, including design, development, and introduction of new products and production support for existing products and/or product line enhancements that fall within strategic direction of company.  Ensures performance (business, profit, product and functionality) to specifications.  Conducts cost reduction activities to determine material, labor, and overhead costs.  Investigates and analyzes competitive products to determine product performance, costs, and packaging methods.  Provides technical direction to other staff members and interfaces at all organizational levels.

Do you have these required qualifications?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or similar field of study. (An Associates Degree will be considered if you have an additional 4 years of work experience in engineering)
  • Minimum 3 years experience in engineering role
  • Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Ability to work and commute onsite daily to our headquarters in Holland, MI without relocation assistance

Do you have these preferred qualifications?

  • Detail oriented
  • Enjoy investigating and digging up information to determine path forward
  • Experience designing in Creo
  • Experience working on specialized custom products
  • Furniture industry experience
  • Knowledge of BIFMA
  • Experience with DFMEA

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

  • Demonstrated ability to creatively design, analyze, and document product designs on multiple projects
  • Design, development, and project management skills
  • Ability for innovative technical accomplishments, as demonstrated through prior design drawings, patent awards, technical publications, and market success
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of CAD (design) systems and analysis procedures; PC and keyboard/mouse skills 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to ensure products and materials produced meet functional requirements over life of product
  • Ability to work in development-oriented team environment
  • Knowledgeable of applicable global standards such as American National Standards Institute (ANSI) drafting practices, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) and Canadian Government Test Standard (CGSB)
