Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Business Development Executive III to join our Sales team in Chicago, IL.  


As a Business Development Executive III, you will:

Support, influence and guide dealer sales personnel on sales strategies to maximize Haworth share of wallet on dealer-led accounts.  Partner with assigned dealers to increase sales and profitability of Haworth product lines in existing dealer accounts by developing solutions that meet clients’ needs.  Work to position Haworth as dealers’ most profitable line.

Do you have these required qualifications?

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of selling experience within commercial interiors, contract furniture systems, commercial real estate, and/or architectural workplace solutions.
  • If no bachelor’s degree, 14 years of selling experience within commercial interiors, contract furniture systems, commercial real estate, and/or architectural workplace solutions.
  • Ability to work in Chicago, IL without relocation assistance.
  • Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time with occasional overnight travel.

Do you have these preferred qualifications?

  • Proven history of sales success identifying and developing (hunting) new business opportunities.
  • Sales experience in the office furniture industry.
  • Experience working with A&D and real estate companies.
  • Experience working at or with a dealership.
  • Quota retirement responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape and key influencers in the Chicago, IL market. 

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

  • Strong networking skills to develop leads and new business relationships.
  • Confident “hunter” skills to cold call and develop new business opportunities with end-user clients.
  • Advanced selling skills, e.g., prospect qualification; lead generation; new business development; account penetration; strategic, conceptual, issues-based, and consultative selling; negotiation; and contracts (closing).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and listening skills to influence target audience.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends to attend networking and social events to mine out new business opportunities.
