Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Machine Operator to join our team in Holland, MI.
As a Machine Operator, you will:
Operate assigned production machinery in accordance with company standards to complete customer orders.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accesses electronic production schedule to make sure the right parts are on hand
- Verifies parts received against pick tickets for accurate counts, colors, part numbers, and packaging
- Verifies proper machine set up according to instructions
- Operates machine in a continuous or repetitive manner, focusing on a single product or process
- Makes minor machine adjustments
- Escalates & documents production nonconformance issues
- May use manual material handling equipment
In addition to the above, all employees are expected to:
- Meet daily production requirements.
- Respect and follow safety policies and regulations; scan the environment for things that may pose a safety risk; encourage others to utilize safe and healthy work practices.
- Follow company policies and standard work procedures. Encourage others to follow work rules. Call attention to actions that may violate policies and procedures.
- Perform quality work and inspections (per Haworth quality standards) throughout the production process.
- Flex weekly work schedule as business demands; may work more than forty hours per week, including weekends and/or holidays.
- Follow all housekeeping standards and complete daily 5S checklists/tasks.
- Cross-train and perform in other job functions as requested.
- Complete other duties as needed
We have a variety of shift openings and pay ranges from $18.50-$22.65/hour based on experience + $1 for working on 2nd and 3rd shift. Times may vary in each of our plants and there is currently mandatory overtime in place.
Do you have these required qualifications?
- 8th grade education
- New team members may be placed in this job and receive on the job training (OJT)
- Ability to utilize appropriate electronic production system and maintenance management system to complete job duties, along with the respective technology tools, e.g. personal computer (PC), tablet, keyboard, mouse, RF gun.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed
- Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance
The following are the environmental or physical demands of the role:
- Large machinery and equipment used in work areas. Possibility of cuts, scrapes or bruises.
- Moderate exposure to dust, noise, solvent, heat, paint, and lubricants. May also be exposed to glue, solvent, heat, paint, fiberglass, and denatured alcohol.
- Constant mental and visual alertness required to avoid potential serious injury to self and others in all work groups.
- Eye protection required; hearing protection may be required.
- Moves and may lift materials and/or products weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally more (assistance given with heavier objects).
- Walks, bends, twists, turns, reaches and lifts while performing functions of position.
- Standing required for extended periods.
- Work requires regular repetitive arm and hand movement.
- May be required to climb stairs and ladders.
