Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Benefits Analyst to join our team in Holland, MI. This position will be eligible for a flexible work schedule, which allows for work from home 1 or 2 days a week.
As a Benefits Analyst, you will become a subject matter expert within Benefits, leading the design and implementation of key programs and initiatives. The position will provide guidance and support to members, HR colleagues, and business partners, ensuring alignment with the overall HR strategy. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering Haworth's health and welfare benefits strategy across the U.S. and Canada. The role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution, whether leading open enrollment, analyzing benefits data, or partnering with vendors to enhance the employee experience. A strong focus on customer service is essential, as this role supports both internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure a responsive, solutions-oriented approach to benefits delivery.
Essential Functions
- Administer many different Benefits programs related to member health and welfare.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to other HR team members and stakeholders.
- Open Enrollment Planning and Execution: Develop a communications plan, work with internal and external partners to develop materials, conduct presentations, and answer member questions.
- Vendor Eligibility File Management: Troubleshoot eligibility issues, review error reports, identify discrepancies in data, and work to ensure smooth and secure data transfers.
- Creatively communicate benefits information throughout the year through a variety of channels to Haworth Members.
- Conduct Benefits audits to assess compliance with policies and procedures, influencing audit design and alignment with goals.
- Interpret and apply HR policies and procedures.
- Develop Benefits Documents such as open enrollment details or other informational materials.
- Analyze HR data to identify trends and make recommendations to support business decisions.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, such as managers and employees.
- Stay informed about current HR trends, laws, and regulations and apply knowledge to work processes.
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
- Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors degree in business, human resources management, industrial relations or equivalent.
- Education Equivalency:
- Associate's degree plus 2 years related experience or,
- High school diploma plus 4 years related experience.
- Military Equivalent.
Experience:
- 2 years related experience working in Human Resources.
In addition:
- Must be able to work in Holland, MI, without relocation assistance.
- Ability to travel up to 10 percent of the time (3-5 domestic trips a year).
- Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Human Resources Professional Certifications: SHRM, PHR, CPHR.
- CEBS Certification.
- Working experience in managing both US and Canadian benefits plans.
- Experience working in a mid to large sized, self-insured company.
- Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, SAP).
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
- Familiarity with benefits compliance (ERISA, HIPAA, ACA).
- Experience with vendor file feeds and troubleshooting eligibility data.
- Ability to explain complex benefits topics in simple terms.
- Ability to support Spanish-speaking employees in navigating various human resources questions or concerns.
