Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Team Member to join our team in Bruce MS.

References production orders, build sheets, or work orders; assembles and packages various components per engineering specifications. Inspects components and performs minor repairs as necessary, ensuring Haworth quality specifications are met. Performs any or all line positions on rotating basis as needed.

Major Responsibilities

  • References production order to assemble regular, custom, or special product per engineering specifications.
  • Assembles and installs various hardware to complete assembly process, utilizing electric and air powered hand tools, involving repetitive wrist and arm movements.  Inspects fixtures, sub-assembly fixtures, and zone-controlled releases, ensuring proper sequencing and fit up as components progressively move down assembly line.
  • Assembles component parts during both sub-assembly and final assembly.
  • Frequently loads, unloads, lifts/moves, pulls/pushes, and/or positions products and materials, weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally weighing more (assistance given with heavier objected by work partner[s]), throughout work center.  Assembly operations involve frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, turning, and lifting.
  • May select proper rack, select hang pattern, and load and remove product from line.
  • Inspects incoming component parts and previous station's assembly work per Haworth quality standards to ensure proper fit and function of all components; corrects or replaces unacceptable parts as necessary.  Ensures paint/product/material has no flaws and is correct color.
  • Monitors material usage and floor stock to ensure accurate inventory.  Notifies material handler or department clerk of any floorstock and/or inventory discrepancies.
  • Performs functional and visual inspection of all completed product, ensuring Haworth quality and assembly specifications are met.  If problems are identified, troubleshoots and corrects problems.
  • Performs daily maintenance duties, including work center and/or equipment preventative maintenance, to ensure and maintain clean, safe, and well-kept work environment and to continuously improve process uptime
  • Packages all components per Haworth packaging standards; may use wrapper and conveyors.  Ensures proper instructions and labels are used.  Utilizes personal computer (PC) and keyboard/mouse.
  • Assures and maintains cleanliness of work area by performing housekeeping duties.
  • Performs and cross trains on various line positions as required.
  • Follows all safety requirements and communicates any safety concerns.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork.
  • Performs all duties as assigned to ensure department and plant meet daily and weekly production requirements.
  • Flexes work schedule as business demands; may work more than eight hours per day and/or forty hours per week, including weekends and/or holidays.

Do you meet these qualifications?

EDUCATION

  • Eighth grade education or equivalent preferred.

 

WORK REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE

  • One year manufacturing experience preferred.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequent exposure to noise, dust, fumes, dirt, grease, oil, and vibrations.
  • May also be exposed to glue, solvent, heat, paint, fiberglass, and denatured alcohol.
  • Frequently load, unloads, lifts/moves, pulls/pushes, and/or positions products and materials, weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally weighing more (assistance given with heavier objects by work partner[s]), throughout work center.
  • Frequently walks, bends, twists, turns, and lifts while performing functions of position.
  • Moderate-sized equipment utilized around work area.
  • Possible cuts, scrapes, or bruises.
  • Must wear protective clothing in specific work areas.
  • Eye protection required; hearing protection may be required.

 

Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship required.

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

  • Must have good manual dexterity and communication skills; good vision and color perception essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints helpful.
  • PC and keyboard/mouse skills required.
  • Ability to frequently lift/move material weighing up to 50 pounds.
