Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Commodity Planning Supervisor to join our team in Holland, MI.
As a Commodity Planning Supervisor you will:
Provide first-level people leadership and operational oversight for commodity planning activities that support manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate material planning data, consistent execution of standard work, and effective coordination across planning, sourcing, engineering, and manufacturing partners. The supervisor focuses on execution excellence, data integrity, and continuous improvement within established systems and policies.
Essential Functions
- Supervise and develop a commodity planning team by assigning work, setting priorities, providing coaching, and conducting performance evaluations to ensure accurate and timely execution of planning responsibilities.
- Oversee commodity planning execution to ensure material availability, planning accuracy, and alignment with production schedules, inventory targets, and sourcing strategies.
- Maintain full PFEP (Plan for Every Part) integrity by ensuring all part level data is accurate, current, and fully aligned with material flow, sourcing, and operational strategies. This includes supporting new product launches with timely, validated part information.
- Provide oversight and guidance on Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) by ensuring material planning impacts are understood, communicated, and appropriately actioned across the planning team and relevant cross functional partners.
- Ensure adherence to standard work and established planning processes, identifying gaps, addressing deviations, and driving corrective actions to improve consistency and reliability.
- Apply strong Microsoft Excel capabilities (including formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and reporting) to analyze planning, PFEP, and ECO related data; identify trends or issues; and support workflow optimization and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate cross functionally with Sourcing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Data teams to support engineering changes, product introductions, ongoing planning requirements, and resolution of execution risks.
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
- Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or similar field of study.
- 3 years experience in Supply Chain, Material Management, Planning, or similar.
- 2 years supervisory experience.
- Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
- Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.
- Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in material planning, supply chain, or manufacturing planning within a complex, cross‑functional environment; Haworth experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of PFEP (Plan for Every Part), material flow, and alignment with sourcing strategies, operational constraints, and new product launches
- Proven experience supporting Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), including evaluating planning impacts and maintaining accurate master data
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams
- Advanced analytical and technical skills, including Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros/VBA) and ERP systems such as SAP
- Hands‑on experience with value stream mapping or similar process improvement methodologies in an evolving, ambiguous operating environment
