We are currently looking for a Associate Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Conover.

Job Summary

Join our growing Manufacturing Engineering team in Conover, where you'll support senior engineers in designing and maintaining manufacturing systems that bring new product introductions (NPIs) to life. This role offers hands on experience with machine orientation, system design, and ensuring production readiness, while leading cost improvement initiatives. You'll collaborate closely with NPI teams in other plants, floor members, maintenance, and facilities management to drive efficient and scalable solutions. Ideal candidates are hardworking, eager to learn, and passionate about engineering and teamwork. Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with engineering documentation: Provide support in preparing basic engineering documentation, such as Enterprise Change Management (ECMs) and Request for Expenditures (RFEs), under guidance.
  • Assist with manufacturing design analysis: Assist other engineers in analyzing product and manufacturing designs to identify potential solutions.
  • Climb/bend/balance/twist/reach/lift.
  • Conduct basic manufacturing tests: Perform standardized manufacturing tests and document results under supervision.  and regulations.
  • Develop knowledge of industry standards: Develop a foundational understanding of industry standards and best practices in manufacturing materials and regulations.
  • Learn and apply manufacturing processes: Learn and assist in implementing basic manufacturing processes, including material handling and documentation.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings: Participate in cross-functional team meetings to gain exposure to manufacturing integration processes.
  • Work alongside experienced engineers: Troubleshoot basic manufacturing issues in areas assigned and work alongside experienced engineers to implement corrective actions to maintain quality and efficiency.

  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Packaging or in a similar relevant field of study
  • Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years additional engineering experience OR 4 years additional engineering experience if no post-secondary education
  • Work Experience: No professional experience required.
  • Ability to climb, bend, balance, twist, reach, and lift; must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 100 lbs, with or without accommodations.

  • Applicants must be able to work in Conover, NC without relocation assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CAD experience; proficiency in AutoCAD and Creo is a plus
  • Prior experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Hands on experience using hand tools in a production or engineering environment
  • Exposure to CNC manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Understanding of NPI (New Product Introduction) processes
  • Knowledge of plywood framed upholstery and textile manufacturing
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams including engineering, maintenance, and production
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems and workflows in a plant environment
  • Ability to analyze and improve manufacturing processes for efficiency and cost savings
