Job Overview

We are currently looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in Conover, North Carolina.   The position will work Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM.  This position does have the ability to work from home 1 day a week with supervisor approval and dependent on business needs.  
 

As a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), you will play a critical role in executing a broad range of HR responsibilities with a high degree of independence. This position requires strong knowledge of HR policies and procedures to effectively analyze situations and contribute to practical, strategic solutions. Collaboration with HR colleagues and business leaders is essential to support the implementation of HR programs and initiatives that align with organizational goals. The HRBP helps foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture—one that supports employee engagement, development, and retention.

This role requires experience across multiple HR disciplines, including employee relations, coaching, workplace investigations, and problem resolution. Proven ability to counsel team members and managers through complex situations is essential, along with the capability to evaluate talent selection and development programs for effectiveness and alignment with company values. This position contributes to making Haworth an employer of choice in the Conover/Hickory area by helping to shape a workplace where people thrive and business goals are achieved.

Essential Functions

  • Communicate directly with members regarding concerns, complaints, or other needs they have regarding their employment.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand their needs and provide HR solutions.
  • Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into member issues, including harassment, discrimination, and performance concerns.
  • Implement HR programs, such as talent acquisition, performance management, and member development.
  • Support organizational change initiatives, such as restructuring and succession planning.
  • Analyze HR data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in HR technology.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in business, human resources management, industrial relations or equivalent.
  • Education Equivalency:
    • Associate's degree plus 2 years related experience or,
    • High school diploma plus 4 years related experience. 
  • Military Equivalent.

Experience: 

  • 2 years of related experience in an HRBP or HR Generalist position (or equivalent) that provided expertise in a variety of disciplines, including employee relations experience; experience counseling and coaching members and managers in HR member relations-related situations; experience with conducting workplace investigations and resolving workplace issues (problem resolution) and reviewing and/or evaluating people for selection and/or programs for appropriateness.

 

In addition: 

  • Must be able to work onsite in Conover, NC , without relocation assistance.
  • Ability to travel up to 10 percent of the time (1-2 trips to HQ in Holland, MI, and Bruce, MS per year). 
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM Certification. 
  • HR manufacturing experience.
  • Strong MS Office Suite experience. 
  • Ability to support Spanish-speaking employees in navigating various human resources questions or concerns.
