We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team in Conover.


As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager you will:

A Manufacturing Engineer Manager is a professional responsible for leading and overseeing a team of manufacturing engineers within a manufacturing or production environment. Their primary role is to ensure that the manufacturing processes and systems in place are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's production goals and quality standards.

 

  • Planning and Optimization: They develop and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing processes, improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational efficiency. This involves analyzing production data, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing process improvements.
  • Team Management: Manufacturing Engineer Managers are responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing a team of manufacturing engineers. They assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure that the team has the necessary resources and support to perform their duties effectively.
  • Equipment and Facility Management: They are involved in the selection, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and facilities. This includes evaluating new technologies, developing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Manufacturing Engineer Managers are responsible for managing the department's budget, allocating resources efficiently, and justifying capital expenditures for new equipment or process improvements.
  • Training and Development: They identify training needs for manufacturing engineers and production personnel, and develop or facilitate training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Manufacturing Engineer Managers promote a culture of continuous improvement by implementing lean manufacturing principles, encouraging innovation, and fostering a problem-solving mindset within the team.
     

Do you have these required qualifications?

 

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering or closely related field.
  • 10 years engineering experience (prefer combination of manufacturing engineering process ownership responsibilities and project engineering).
  • 3 years of supervisory/people management experience.
  • Experience must show history of project management assignments with increasing magnitude.
  • Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to work in Conover, NC with relocation assistance. 

Do you have these preferred qualifications?

  • Masters of Business Administration, Engineering, or Manufacturing Management preferred.

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems.
  • PC and keyboard/mouse skills required, including working knowledge of word processing and spread sheet applications.
  • Ability to climb/bend/balance in manufacturing environment with ability to lift/ move objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to travel overnight, including internationally, away from plant location, up to 25 percent of time.
