We are currently looking for a Plant Manager to join our team in Conover, N.C.. This is a salaried exempt Senior Manager level role.  

 

Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a furniture manufacturing facility in Conover, North Carolina. You will have the opportunity to lead 60+ members and launch three new products in the next year alone. In this role, you will have autonomy to run the site but will feel supported from the team at our corporate headquarters located in Holland, MI.

 

Job Summary

Provide leadership and direction to multiple manufacturing teams or across North America, developing departmental plans and setting priorities to achieve organizational objectives. Develop and implement production plans, manage resources, and make strategic decisions to optimize manufacturing output.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with senior leadership: Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align manufacturing strategies with overall business objectives and provide technical expertise.
  • Develop and mentor manufacturing talent: Identify, recruit, and develop high-performing manufacturing talent, providing guidance, mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Drive innovation and technological advancements: Foster a culture of innovation within the manufacturing team, encouraging the exploration and implementation of new technologies, automation, and digitalization to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement: Champion a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement, implementing lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other best practices to optimize production processes.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement: Create and nurture a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the manufacturing organization, driving a relentless pursuit of operational excellence.
  • Lead a culture of inclusion and belonging, promoting member engagement, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead multiple manufacturing teams: Provide strategic direction and leadership to multiple manufacturing teams, aligning their efforts with overall business objectives and ensuring consistent performance across the organization.
  • Manage large-scale manufacturing projects: Oversee the execution of large-scale manufacturing projects, effectively managing risks, resources, and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in the Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in relevant field of study
  • Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education
  • 7 years related experience with Bachelor’s Degree OR 5 years related experience with Master’s Degree. 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Work Experience: 7 years related experience with Bachelor’s Degree OR 5 years related experience with Master’s Degree
  • Supervisory Experience: 3 years supervisory experience
  • Military Equivalency at www.mynextmove.org/vets/find/military

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Plant Manager experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage strategy and day to day operations.
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
  • Continuous improvement experience. 

 

This role requires domestic travel of 10% or less.
