Job Overview

 

We are currently looking for a Director of Product Marketing and Communications to join our team in Holland, MI.

 

As Director of Product Marketing and Communications, you will shape how Haworth brings innovation to market, connects with customers, and strengthens its position as a premium global brand.

 

In this highly visible marketing leadership role, you will lead the Product Marketing & Communications function, translating product innovation and customer insights into compelling go-to-market strategies, differentiated market positioning, and impactful brand storytelling. You will influence how Haworth's products and solutions are introduced, understood, and valued across key markets, helping accelerate growth and deepen customer engagement.

 

As a strategic partner to executive leadership, you will guide enterprise marketing priorities that support business growth, product strategy, customer experience, and market differentiation. You'll lead a team of product marketing and communications professionals while fostering strong partnerships across Product Management, Sales, Digital Marketing, Brand, and Business Unit leadership. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Global Marketing and Strategy and Corporate Officer, this highly visible leadership role offers the opportunity to influence enterprise strategy, shape marketing capabilities, and help drive Haworth's future growth.

 

This role is also responsible for aligning and advancing critical functions within the New Product Introduction (NPI) ecosystem, including Product Marketing, Field and Dealer Training, Field and Dealer Communications, and Technical Communications, ensuring a cohesive customer experience and effective go-to-market execution. In partnership with Research and Innovation teams, this leader oversees the Knowledge Marketing function, creating differentiated Knowledge Marketing strategies and knowledge platforms that strengthen customer engagement and market differentiation.

Essential Functions

  • Define and Lead Enterprise Product Marketing & Communications Strategy: Establish and execute an integrated product marketing and communications strategy that advances Haworth's growth objectives, strengthens brand positioning, and supports enterprise growth priorities.
  • Lead Integrated Communications: Direct Product Marketing, Field and Dealer Communications, Technical Communications, Training, Content Strategy, and related engagement initiatives to deliver consistent and impactful experiences across customer segments, channels, brands, and business units.
  • Serve as a Strategic Advisor to Executive Leadership: Provide counsel and thought leadership to executive leaders on market positioning, communications strategy, brand reputation, stakeholder engagement, and other initiatives.
  • Translate Business Strategy into Growth-Oriented Marketing Investments: Align product marketing and communications priorities, resources, and investments with enterprise, portfolio, and commercial strategies to accelerate growth, strengthen customer relationships, and enhance market performance.
  • Lead Through Leaders and Develop Organizational Capability: Provide leadership through managers and senior professionals, fostering accountability, collaboration, innovation, and high performance while building leadership bench strength and advancing organizational effectiveness. Lead the Knowledge Marketing team to develop differentiated Knowledge Marketing strategies in partnership with Research and Innovation teams.
  • Drive Product Value and Knowledge Platform Strategy: Accountable for shaping and communicating product and solution value propositions, knowledge platforms, and market-facing narratives that strengthen customer understanding, support commercial growth, and reinforce Haworth's market differentiation. Partner with Product Business Unit leadership to activate product introductions, drive successful go-to-market execution, and achieve business and financial objectives.
  • Establish Governance, Measurement, and Operational Excellence: Define and oversee enterprise standards, processes, performance metrics, and governance frameworks to ensure consistent execution, effective resource allocation, brand alignment, and data-driven decision making.
  • Advance Innovation, Market Intelligence, and Future Readiness: Shape enterprise-wide marketing innovation by leveraging customer insights, competitive intelligence, AI-enabled solutions, and emerging technologies to drive strategic advantage, accelerate organizational capability, and position Haworth for sustained market leadership growth.
  • Lead Enterprise Alignment and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Management, Sales, Ecommerce, Digital Marketing, Brand, Creative, and other key functions to align priorities, execute integrated go-to-market strategies, and drive business growth.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 12 years of proven experience leading product marketing, market positioning, go-to-market strategy, and customer engagement initiatives within complex B2B, manufacturing, premium consumer, or design-focused organizations (10 years related experience with Master’s)
  • 7+ years of direct leadership experience guiding managers and professional teams while partnering across sales, product management, digital marketing, creative, and business leadership functions.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time, including internationally. 
  • Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional stakeholders, including sales, product management, digital marketing, creative, and executive leadership teams.
  • Experience developing product positioning, market differentiation, and go-to-market strategies for complex products, services, or customer solutions.

  • Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Demonstrated success building marketing capabilities, leading organizational change, and developing future marketing leaders.
  • Experience leading product marketing, brand strategy, or commercial marketing within a premium, design-driven, or highly differentiated brand environment.
  • Experience supporting dealer networks, channel partners, customer enablement programs, or field sales organizations.
  • Experience collaborating across global markets or supporting internationally leveraged marketing strategies.
  • Demonstrated success elevating customer perception, market positioning, and brand value within competitive markets.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and emerging marketing technologies to improve marketing effectiveness and customer engagement.
