Job Overview

 

We are currently looking for an Associate Packaging Engineer to join our team in Holland, MI.   

 

As an Associate Packaging Engineer , you will: 

Assist senior engineers in the design, construction, and maintenance of manufacturing facilities and systems. Responsibilities include performing routine tasks, learning company procedures, and developing a foundational understanding of engineering principles.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with engineering documentation: Provide support in preparing basic engineering documentation, such as Enterprise Change Management (ECMs) and Request for Expenditures (RFEs), under guidance.
  • Assist with manufacturing design analysis: Assist other engineers in analyzing product and manufacturing designs to identify potential solutions.
  • Climb/bend/balance/twist/reach/lift.
  • Conduct basic manufacturing tests: Perform standardized manufacturing tests and document results under supervision.  and regulations.
  • Develop knowledge of industry standards: Develop a foundational understanding of industry standards and best practices in manufacturing materials and regulations.
  • Learn and apply manufacturing processes: Learn and assist in implementing basic manufacturing processes, including material handling and documentation.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings: Participate in cross-functional team meetings to gain exposure to manufacturing integration processes.
  • Work alongside experienced engineers: Troubleshoot basic manufacturing issues in areas assigned and work alongside experienced engineers to implement corrective actions to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, or similar field of study.
  • Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education
  • Ability to Climb, bend, balance, twist, reach, lift.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Haworth experience.
  • Basic understanding of packaging materials.
  • Experience creating standard work. 
  • Experience in SAP. 
  • Experience in drawing creation, modification, or familiarity with drawings.
