Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Commodity Material Planner to join our team in Holland, MI.
As a Commodity Material Planner, you will:
Manage the inbound movement of materials from suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery and optimal inventory levels. Collaborate with purchasing, production, master scheduling, customer service and engineering teams to coordinate material requirements and resolve any supply chain disruptions.
Essential Functions
- Plan and Schedule Materials: Plan and schedule materials for assigned commodities, utilizing material planning systems to optimize inventory levels and meet production demands.
- Manage Supplier Relationships: Manage relationships with assigned suppliers, monitoring performance, and addressing issues.
- Analyze Data and Identify Trends: Analyze material usage data, identify trends, and develop forecasting models to improve planning accuracy and reduce inventory costs.
- Drive Continuous Initiatives: Drive continuous initiatives within the material planning function, identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Support New Product Introduction: Support the introduction of new products by establishing material planning parameters, coordinating initial material flows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Mentor and Train Team Members: Mentor and train less experienced material planners, sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and supporting their professional development.
- Manage Complex Data: Utilize and manage complex data within the ERP system to model, simulate, and optimize material plans.
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
- Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, logistics, or similar field of study.
- Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
- Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.
- Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education

Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years experience in Supply Chain Management (i.e. Material Planner/Buyer, Production Scheduling, Inventory control, etc.)
- Experience in Make to Order (MTO) environments, Furniture, Automotive and Electronics manufacturing
- Experience in SAP
