Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Commodity Material Planner to join our team in Holland, MI.  

 

As a Commodity Material Planner, you will:

 

Perform all functions needed to ensure lowest total cost of purchased materials and services for multiple sites to balance objectives of maximum product availability with strategic inventory plans. Assist with supplier relationships. Daily interaction with members of production on the manufacturing floor.

Do you have these required qualifications?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business and 3 years of experience in production planning and control, inventory / warehouse management, purchasing, or customer service experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • If you do not have a degree listed above, 11 years of in production planning and control, inventory / warehouse management, purchasing, or customer service experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time. 
  • Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.

Do you have these preferred qualifications?

  • Experience in electronics, automotive, or furniture manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of ERP systems, preferably SAP or Oracle.
  • Experience with customers or vendors.
  • Uses Excel regularly in the workplace.

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

  • Understanding of Just In Time concepts, theory of constraints, and lean philosophy.
  • Understanding of supply chain integration touch points from supplier through manufacturing.
  • Lean background and continuous improvement experience.
  • Root cause problem solving skills.
  • Ability to present to groups including members of management.
