We are currently looking for a Group Manager - PMO and Portfolio Management to join our team in Holland, MI.
Job Summary
Haworth is seeking a Group Manager to lead our Project Management Office (PMO) , including portfolio management, in our Information Technology team. This is an opportunity to strategize about the PMO's role in the organization, evaluate how the role integrates with the business, and bring visionary insight to influence structure and design. The selected leader is responsible for ensuring that project investments are aligned with organizational priorities and deliver measurable business value. This leader establishes and drives governance frameworks, standards, and processes that promote consistency, transparency, and execution excellence across the organization. By partnering closely with executives and senior leaders, the role supports informed decision-making around initiative prioritization and resource allocation, enabling effective portfolio and resource management that advances enterprise strategy and outcomes.
Essential Functions
- Provide enterprise leadership for the Project Management Office (PMO) by defining and executing an integrated delivery and portfolio management approach that aligns initiatives with organizational strategy, business architecture, and enterprise priorities.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, offering clear insight into initiative health, delivery risk, prioritization, and capacity to enable informed decision‑making and effective trade‑offs.
- Oversee enterprise intake, prioritization, and governance of initiatives, ensuring a disciplined, transparent approach to managing a balanced set of strategic, compliance, operational, and transformational work.
- Establish, govern, and evolve PMO frameworks, methodologies, and standards, ensuring consistent, high‑quality execution across the organization while supporting agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery models.
- Lead enterprise-wide resource, capacity, and financial alignment, partnering with business leaders and Finance to optimize utilization, manage investment forecasts, and support successful delivery across initiatives.
- Drive PMO performance management and executive reporting, delivering clear dashboards, insights, and communications that promote accountability, delivery excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Provide oversight across initiatives of varying scale and complexity, from large, multi‑year enterprise programs to smaller, high‑impact efforts, ensuring appropriate rigor, governance, and delivery discipline are applied based on scope, risk, and business impact.
- Operate as a player/coach leader, balancing hands‑on engagement in critical initiatives with the development, coaching, and enablement of project and PMO professionals to build capability, maturity, and delivery excellence across the organization.
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
- Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in relevant field of study (Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education)
- 10 years related experience with Bachelor’s Degree OR 7 years related experience with Master’s Degree
- Military Equivalency at www.mynextmove.org/vets/find/military
- 5 years supervisory experience
- Certifications/Licensures:(Project Management (PMP, IPMA))
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP Experience
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
- Manufacturing Industry experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, if needed (Less than 10% of the time)
