Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team at our headquarters in Holland, MI.
As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager you will:
Manage multiple plant-focused manufacturing engineering group with specific responsibilities for planning, organization, project management, and implementation of new manufacturing processes, product line enhancements, quality improvements, and cost improvement projects, in direct support of operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Manages assigned members of engineering support team and introduction of new processes and equipment, product line enhancements, cost improvement activities, and competitive product assessments to ensure continual growth in profitability.
- Reports periodically to management on project status, including completion of activities to schedule, performance to project expense budget, capital status to approved Request For Expenditure (RFE), product cost, and process performance to support business goals.
- Establishes group objectives in support of Strategic Business Unit(s) (SBU) and works to achieve these objectives. Assigns projects to department members.
- Reviews and approves project plans to prepare budgets; manages department budget to meet goals.
- Develops and manages effective project management organization to assure on time, within budget completion of projects.
- Coordinates manufacturing engineering activities of new product projects from concept through production, including equipment, tooling, process, costing, and quality to support new product launches as deemed appropriate by Marketing.
- Conducts performance evaluations for department members and administers salary policy as established by management to ensure proper development of technical staff.
- Conducts regular reviews of plant capacity and develops strategic plans to assure operation has capacity to meet forecast.
- Supports all Manufacturing Engineering systems and standard operating procedures and trains new members in their use to instill robust process-driven approach to all aspects of manufacturing process.
- Participates in new product development reviews when applicable and reviews all deliverables with department members to ensure manufacturing capability for new products.
Do you have these required qualifications?
- Bachelor of Science in engineering (or similar field)
- 10 years of engineering experience (prefer combination of manufacturing engineering process ownership responsibilities and project engineering)
- 3 years of supervisory experience
- Experience must show history of project management assignments with increasing magnitude
- Working knowledge of CAD
- Ability to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance
- Current and continuing right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Do you have these preferred qualifications?
- Masters of Business Administration, Engineering, or Manufacturing Management
- Work experience with metal forming, roll forming, robotic welding, and assembly.
- Lean manufacturing experience.
- PFMEA experience.
