Job Overview
We are looking for a Paralegal to join our team onsite in Holland, MI.
Join Haworth’s dynamic Legal Department as a Paralegal, where your expertise in legal procedures and research will play a vital role in supporting our in-house legal team. In this multifaceted position, you will manage a variety of responsibilities including legal research, document drafting, and case file management. You will also assist with contested or escalated matters, helping to develop and implement timely, strategic courses of action. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to upholding Haworth’s standards of excellence. All duties must be performed in alignment with company policies and in compliance with applicable U.S. state and federal laws and regulations.
Essential Functions
- Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on a variety of legal matters, providing summaries and recommendations to attorneys for their review.
- Draft and review a variety of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, policies, and correspondence.
- Assist with litigation and discovery processes, gathering and organizing documents, preparing responses, and coordinating with outside counsel.
- Assist with managing intellectual property, including patent applications, trademark registrations, and copyright protection.
- Stay informed about current legal developments, industry trends, and best practices in legal and compliance matters.
- Adhere to the highest ethical and legal standards, maintaining confidentiality and discretion in all matters.
- Participate in compliance initiatives such as audits, investigations, and preparing reports.
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
- Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies or equivalent.
- Education Equivalency:
- Associate's degree plus 2 years related experience or,
- High school diploma plus 4 years related experience.

Experience:
- 2 or more years of experience working in the law field.
*Related experience is defined as working experience supporting litigation management in a law firm, corporate, or government regulatory environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Paralegal certification.
- Proficiency with office productivity tools such as Legal Tracker, Teams, Sharepoint, and Office 365.
- Strong writing, proofreading and communication skills.
- Strong attention to details and ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Experience with building and maintaining legal database systems and processes.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively with time-sensitive materials, while handling multiple concurrent responsibilities.
