Job Overview

As a Production Supervisor, you will independently oversee production operations in our wood plant, to ensure the delivery of high quality products on time, within budget, and in alignment with customer requirements. This role requires a confident, self directed leader capable of making sound decisions and managing operations effectively during weekend shifts with limited onsite support.

You will plan and monitor daily operations, coach and develop employees, support maintenance and sustainability initiatives, and reinforce corporate participative management practices. The Production Supervisor consistently demonstrates strong leadership, accountability, and initiative while promoting a safe, efficient, and continuous improvement focused, team based work environment.

Details about Weekend Supervisor schedule and hours: 

  • The supervisor is expected to arrive ahead of the shift to prepare and then remain after the shift for cross shift communication.
  • This position's hours will be (Friday-Sunday) 4am-4:30pm.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assign and oversee production tasks, ensuring clear understanding of work instructions, quality standards, and production targets.
  • Enforce compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, promoting member engagement, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting open communication, teamwork, and a shared commitment to excellence.
  • Champion and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as leveraging lean tools, to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage team resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize production efficiency and control costs.
  • Encourage Monitor production performance, track progress against goals, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support to a team of manufacturing members, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering, operations, business or social science disciplines or similar field of study
  • Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education
  • Work Experience: 3+ years manufacturing experience
  • Supervisory Experience: 2+ years supervisory experience
  • Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience as a supervisor or manager within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with continuous improvement/lean principles
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience running and troubleshooting manufacturing machinery
  • SAP experience
  • PowerBI or other data analytics software experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
