Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Senior Data Cataloging and Stewardship Program Manager to join our team.
As a Senior Data Cataloging and Stewardship Program Manager, you will:
Lead the program for Haworth’s enterprise data catalog and data stewardship program. This role drives capability rollout and organization-wide adoption through close collaboration with GIS/IT and business teams; the creation and delivery of training videos, workshops, collateral, user groups, and office hours; and sustained data literacy enablement for leaders, analysts, and knowledge workers. The role has no direct reports and leads through influence owning program governance, adoption, and outcomes delivery against the capability roadmap set by the Data Management leader.
Essential Functions
- Lead Program Management for Data Cataloging and Stewardship by serving as the enterprise lead and translating the Data Management and Maturity Roadmap into quarterly execution plans and report out to leadership and Data Governance Council
- Facilitate implementation and adoption of new data cataloging and data management technologies and training to create and maintain harmony between systems, business processes and users/members.
- Lead and mature the enterprise Data Stewardship Program by enhancing processes, tools, and engagement to support consistent and scalable stewardship practices across the organization.
- Drive awareness and understanding of stewardship roles through targeted communications and visibility campaigns that clarify responsibilities and demonstrate the value of stewardship in improving data quality and trust.
- Develop and maintain steward training and onboarding resources, including runbooks, reference guides, and learning materials, to ensure stewards are well‑equipped to perform their responsibilities.
- Lead catalog curation and adoption by driving prioritized metadata enrichment (datasets, lineage, ownership, quality rules, classifications), partnering with GIS/IT to automate ingestion and improve scan coverage, and monitoring key adoption metrics (active users, search/browse activity, curation actions, top‑viewed assets) to guide targeted enable
- Design and deliver a comprehensive enablement portfolio—including quick‑hit how‑to clips, runbooks, guides, workshops, user groups, and office hours—and lead data literacy initiatives that establish a common data language and measure learning impact across the organization.
- Collaborate across and serve as the primary liaison between GIS/IT, Security, Privacy/Legal, Analytics, and business teams to align domain governance, access models, and catalog guardrails, ensuring consistent and compliant data practices and championing data quality, translating policy into practice, and building strong relationships
- Lead and mature the enterprise Data Stewardship Program by enhancing processes, tools, and engagement to support consistent and scalable stewardship practices across the organization.
- Drive awareness and understanding of stewardship roles through targeted communications and visibility campaigns that clarify responsibilities and demonstrate the value of stewardship in improving data quality and trust.
- Develop and maintain steward training and onboarding resources, including runbooks, reference guides, and learning materials, to ensure stewards are well‑equipped to perform their responsibilities.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Data, Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related business field.
- Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education
- 5 years experience working with data, analytics, and business process optimization in an enterprise environment (3 years experience with Master’s Degree)

- This position is remote-eligible. Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of our Holland, MI office will be expected to work onsite.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7 years experience working with data, analytics, and business process optimization in an enterprise environment preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading data management efforts (e.g., data governance, stewardship, cataloging, data quality, or data literacy)
- Proven ability to drive adoption of new tools, platforms, or processes across business and technical teams
- Strong experience designing and delivering training or enablement (workshops, documentation, videos, office hours) for varied audiences
- Ability to translate complex data concepts into clear, practical guidance for non technical users
- Experience operating in matrixed organizations, partnering across business, IT, analytics, and governance teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead through influence without formal authority
- High level of self direction, organization, and accountability
- Demonstrated ability to learn new tools and concepts quickly and become a subject matter expert with minimal guidance
- Direct hands on experience with enterprise data catalog platforms (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Atlan, or similar)
- Experience formally owning or scaling a data stewardship program or other communities of practice
- Familiarity with data governance operating models, policies, and metadata standards
- Working knowledge of data quality frameworks and issue management workflows
- Proficiency with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Basic working knowledge of SQL and data structures
- Experience building program metrics, dashboards, or KPIs to measure adoption and impact
