Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Technician - LPP (2nd shift) to join our team onsite in Holland, MI.  The position will work Monday - Thursday,  3:00 PM -  11:30PM. Overtime is available and required as needed and would extend the day by 2 hours or Saturdays. This position is based in LPP (Wood Plant). 

As a Senior Engineering Technician, you will use a range of CAD software and techniques to create complex 2D and 3D part and assembly drawings, often working independently on atypical assignments. You will determine the appropriate approach for new assignments and act as a resource for less experienced colleagues, requiring limited supervision. This role serves as a technical expert for equipment and system issues, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and working knowledge of select programming languages, while continuously seeking opportunities to advance capabilities through evolving technology. The Senior Engineering Technician is relied upon for effective troubleshooting, sound judgment, and high‑quality solutions that help maintain operational stability.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Education Equivalency:
    • Military Equivalency at www.mynextmove.org/vets/find/military
    • Relevant certification or vocational training may be preferred.

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years working experience with the following:
    • G-code and CNC machine programming (not operating) and,
    • Maintenance Technician with computer programming. 

In addition: 

  • Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance. 
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with 3Tec, Cut Rite, AutoNEST or CIM-TECH software.
  • Associate’s degree in Mathematics or Engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM focused degree.    

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement machining processes for new and existing products, including process flow analysis, tooling selection, and labor standard development.
  • Conduct process qualifications, experiments, and data analysis to optimize manufacturing processes and improve product quality.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation.  Prepare and maintain engineering documentation and process specifications. 
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Utilize advanced metrology equipment and inspection techniques to ensure product quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to production personnel on manufacturing processes and quality standards.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
