We are currently looking for a Senior Engineering Technician to join our team in Holland, MI.


Job Overview

Uses a range of CAD software and techniques to create complex 2D and 3D part and assembly drawings, often working independently on atypical assignments. Determine the appropriate approach for new assignments and acts as a resource for less experienced colleagues, requiring limited supervision. This is a weekend shift position in our wood plant working Fri, Sat, and Sun 6:00am-6:30pm.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new and existing products, including process flow analysis, tooling selection, and labor standard development.
  • Conduct process qualifications, experiments, and data analysis to optimize manufacturing processes and improve product quality.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), and process specifications.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve product quality, resolve manufacturing problems, and conduct initial production approvals.
  • Utilize advanced metrology equipment and inspection techniques to ensure product quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to production personnel on manufacturing processes and quality standards.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High School or equivalent; Relevant certification or vocational training may be preferred
  • Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree in relevant field of study may be preferred or required
  • Work Experience: 3 years experience supporting engineering or manufacturing processes through CAD, nesting, routing, or related software tools.
  • Ability to safely work in a manufacturing environment, including working at heights up to 60 feet, climbing ladders and stairs, standing or sitting for extended periods, performing repetitive physical movements (bending, twisting, reaching, stretching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 100 lbs.), operating mobile equipment and company vehicles, using hand tools, maintaining constant mental and visual alertness, working around large machinery, and wearing required PPE including safety shoes, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, sleeves, and hearing protection while exposed to dust, noise, heat, solvents, lubricants, paint, glue, fiberglass, and denatured alcohol.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (within Michigan).
  • Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD software in a manufacturing, engineering, or product development environment.
  • Experience using nesting, routing, or optimization software such as 3Tec, CutRite, AutoNEST, or CIM-Tech.
  • Familiarity with CNC machining, CNC programming, or manufacturing automation processes.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude through hands-on projects, coursework, internships, extracurricular activities, or personal experience in areas such as CNC machining or software programming.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Engineering or other STEM focused degree.
