We are currently looking for a Senior IT Solution Engineer to join our team in Holland, MI.

Job Overview

An IT Solution Engineer Web Developer provides business solutions by designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining Internet/intranet applications. Works within established architecture and coding standards & frameworks. Recommends and utilizes latest technologies, including user interface prototyping and design.

Job Responsibilities

  • Defines site objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality.
  • Designs and develops user interfaces to Internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle; determining design methodologies and tool sets; completing programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests.
  • Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.
  • Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting; studying and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.
  • Completes applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
  • Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools.
  • Updates job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Supports and develops web application developers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or similar major
  • Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education
  • Work Experience: 5+ years experience with Bachelor’s Degree OR 3+ with Master’s Degree
  • Experience must include working knowledge of established development standards, tools, and workflows, with evidence such as code samples, repositories, or demos, and proficiency with technologies including: Visual Studio, C#, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, Single Page Applications, Git, Microsoft SQL, SOAP/REST/OData APIs, Visual Studio Code, TypeScript, and Angular.
  • Ability to work in a monthly on-call rotation (1 week)
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, mostly within Michigan
  • Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong experience across the full application delivery lifecycle (design through support).
  • Deep knowledge of modern web development standards and enterprise technical stacks.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex, cross platform issues and drive high quality solutions.
  • Experience translating business and user requirements into effective technical designs.
  • Ability to lead or contribute to complex technical projects with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Commitment to code quality, documentation, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor others and work effectively across teams.
  • Previous experience with database management.
  • Experience with conceptual software development, on line survey development, user interface design, statistics and graphics programming, and data processing huge plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of existing development standards, platforms, databases, and languages such as:
    • Visual Studio Experience, C#, HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, ASP.NET MVC Framework, Entity Framework, familiarity with Single Page Applications, Git, Microsoft SQL, SOAP, REST APIs, OData, Visual Studio Code experience, Typescript, Angular
  • Experience with Telerik UI, Kendo UI, Webforms, Azure DevOps, Xamarin
  • Ability to learn fast and enjoys hopping between various tech stacks.
  • Highly creative; original thinker.
  • Naturally curious and willing to learn and experiment
  • Excellent problem solving skills, including troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Self directed, accountable, and disciplined to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
