We are currently looking for a Senior Manufacturing Technician to join our team in Holland, MI.

Job Overview

This hands-on Manufacturing Tech role supports production operations by troubleshooting complex equipment issues and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance. Serving as a technical subject matter expert, you will provide support for equipment such as edge banding machines, BIMAS, and auto line systems, while assisting with minor machine programming and equipment software troubleshooting. You will also mentor less experienced technicians and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation. The position is a weekend shift, working 6:00am-6:30pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday equaling 36 hours. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Programs, modifies, and optimizes Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI), and other automated control systems to improve equipment functionality, efficiency, and safety.
  • Ensures a safe and compliant work environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting safety audits, and promoting a culture of safety awareness and responsibility. Ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs complex manufacturing equipment, including electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Implements and maintains technical documentation, including electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and standard operating procedures, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Provides technical guidance and training to less experienced technicians, operators, and other personnel on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Collaborates with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to implement process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new technology installations.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High School or equivalent; Relevant certification or vocational training may be preferred
  • Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree in relevant field of study may be preferred or required
  • Work Experience: 3+ years of experience operating manufacturing equipment and/or providing technical support in manufacturing
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. and work in an environment with moderate exposure to dust, noise, heat, solvents, paint, and lubricants.
  • Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills and strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience operating edge band equipment, BIMA, or Autoline machines
  • Experience using AI tools to improve documentation or streamline manual processes
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment
  • Machine operation experience with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
