Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to join our team onsite in Big Rapids, MI.  

As a Human Resources Coordinator, you will serve as the front line of HR support in Big Rapids (2 plants, BRW and BRC),  providing comprehensive, hands-on support across key HR programs including onboarding (New Member Orientation), training, systems administration, and team member support, while applying your knowledge of HR policies and procedures to resolve issues and contribute to continuous process improvements. In this highly visible role, you will work closely with leadership and HR team members to ensure the smooth execution of HR initiatives, maintain a strong presence on the floor, and build meaningful relationships with team members. You will play a critical role in supporting daily operations, addressing challenges in real time, and enhancing the overall employee experience, making this an excellent opportunity for someone eager to grow their career in HR while making a direct and meaningful impact.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate HR programs, including driving employee recognition initiatives and supporting training and engagement programs, ensuring alignment with company guidelines and policies
  • Support HRIS systems by generating reports, coordinating system updates and changes
  • Process HR transactions, including new hire onboarding and employee changes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
  • Provide support to employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR data in HR systems
  • Prepare reports and correspondence related to HR activities
  • Identify and suggest improvements to HR processes and procedures.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Military Equivalency at www.mynextmove.org/vets/find/military

Experience:

  • Less than one year of experience in human resources, administrative or technical field, including customer contact experience.
     

In addition: 

  • Ability to work onsite in Big Rapids, MI, without relocation assistance.
  • Ability to travel up to 10 percent of the time during working and after hours, as needed.  Travel to HQ in Holland once a month to attend HRBP meeting.    
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to support Spanish-speaking employees in navigating various human resources questions or concerns (Bilingual Spanish/English).
  • Human Resources working experience.
  • Manufacturing or retail experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business.
