We are currently looking for an Engineering Technician to join our team in Ludington, MI.
Job Overview
An Engineering Technician in this role applies advanced CAD expertise to develop and refine complex 2D and 3D part and assembly models while offering guidance to team members on drafting best practices. The position works independently within established processes to recommend improvements that enhance both design and manufacturing efficiency. This technician also supports CNC programming and assists with troubleshooting machining and production issues on the floor, particularly involving HAAS equipment. Responsibilities include verifying product quality, addressing ECM related tasks, and coordinating with contractors and vendors for tooling, machine service, and purchasing needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as subject matter expert, providing technical guidance, defining and assigning tasks, and monitoring performance.
- Develop and implement process improvements, tooling upgrades, and equipment modifications to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
- Manage projects related to new product introduction, process optimization, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Conduct feasibility studies, analyze data, and present recommendations to management on manufacturing-related issues.
- Mentor and train team members on technical skills, problem-solving techniques, and company procedures.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams, including engineering, quality, production, and suppliers, to resolve manufacturing challenges and achieve business objectives.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to continuously improve manufacturing operations.
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
- Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Work Experience: Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience
- Military Equivalency at www.mynextmove.org/vets/find/military
- Applicants must be able to work in Ludington, MI without relocation assistance.
- Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- CNC programming experience, including G‑Code
- CAD proficiency, especially AutoCAD
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Mastercam programming experience
- Relevant technical certifications
- 3D printing and additive manufacturing experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast paced environment
- Capable of working independently while contributing positively to a team
- Solid mechanical aptitude with hands on troubleshooting ability
- Experience working with aluminum materials and processes
- Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, CNC Machining, or Precision Machining Technology or similar relevant field of study
