Job Overview

We are currently looking for two Business Development Executives II to join our Sales team in New York. 


As a Business Development Executive II, you will: 

Develop revenue and increases market share through identifying and securing new business by targeting competitively held client business and developing new business with assigned existing accounts. Develop and implement focused account strategy plans for penetrating into targets to establish new relationships through raising visibility and presence of Haworth in the market to secure new sales. Transition target account business to appropriate sales role to maintain once relationships are firm and headed for long-term results. You will be responsible for meeting financial sales targets. 

Do you have these required qualifications?

  • Bachelors degree OR 2 years of selling experience within commercial interiors, contract furniture systems, commercial real estate, and/or architectural workplace solutions for each year of school uncompleted in lieu of bachelor's degree. 

  •  3 additional years of selling experience within commercial interiors, contract furniture systems, commercial real estate, and/or architectural workplace solutions. 

  • Ability to work in New York without relocation assistance. 

  • Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship. 

  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time with occasional overnight travel. 

Do you have these preferred qualifications?

  • Proven history of sales success identifying and developing (hunting) new business opportunities. 

  • Sales experience in the office furniture industry. 

  • Experience working with A&D and real estate companies. 

  • Experience working at or with a dealership. 

  • Quota retirement responsibilities. 

  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape and key influencers in the New York market.

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

  • Strong networking skills to develop leads and new business relationships.  

  • Confident hunter skills to cold call and develop new business opportunities with end-user clients. 

  • Advanced selling skills, e.g., prospect qualification; lead generation; new business development; account penetration; strategic, conceptual, issues-based, and consultative selling; negotiation; and contracts (closing). 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and listening skills to influence target audience. 

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends to attend networking and social events to mine out new business opportunities.
