We are currently looking for a Senior Quality Engineering Technician to join our team in Holland, MI.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Supply Quality Technician with strong critical thinking and problem solving skills to lead initiatives focused on reducing vendor related Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ). This role involves working closely with external vendors and internal teams to gather, analyze, and report data related to supplier performance, including metrics like PPM and CoPQ. The ideal candidate will have a data driven mindset, a customer focused approach, and a desire to create and refine processes based on feedback. This new position offers the opportunity to develop and implement procedures for tracking and recouping supplier related CoPQ in collaboration with the Supplier Development team.
Job Responsibilities
- Gathers, reviews, and reports vendor related cost of poor quality to supplier development team.
- Leads root cause analysis investigations for significant quality issues, utilizing problemsolving methodologies and statistical tools.
- Develops and delivers training programs on quality standards, inspection techniques, and problem-solving tools.
- Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, supporting their development and skill enhancement.
- Works independently on a variety of assignments, seeking guidance on complex or unusual issues.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and makes recommendations to enhance product quality.
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
- Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Work Experience: 3 years experience tracking supplier metrics such as Parts Per Million (PPM), or Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ), with ability to analyze and interpret data to drive quality improvements
- Military Equivalency at www.mynextmove.org/vets/find/military
- Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI without relocation assistance.
- Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Quality Assurance, Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics, Business Administration or similar field of study
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking ability
- Proficient in Microsoft-based tools (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with data collection, reporting, or analysis
- Familiarity with ERP systems, such as SAP
