Required Qualifications

  • The ability to lift items weighing up to 50lbs
  • Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial truck (hilo) certification
  • Ability to flex work schedule and overtime may be required including weekends and/or holidays per business demands

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years prior manufacturing experience.
  • 1 year hand welding and fabrication experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required. 
  • Must be able to weld and fabricate replacement/new parts for rack repair.
  • Must be able to identify specific rack types and areas needing repair.
  • Ability to inspect and perform acceptable welds.
  • Ability to utilize appropriate electronic production system to complete job duties, along with the respective technology tools, e.g. personal computer (PC), tablet, keyboard, mouse, RF gun.
  • Ability to read and follow prints, drawings, and engineering specifications.
  • Ability to organize workload, troubleshoot, and effectively communicate with others.

Essential Functions

  • Installs, tears down, moves, and repairs conveyors and racking within the facility working from written instructions, blueprints, and/or sketches to support department and plant goals.
  • Tracks, monitors, and repairs all racking to ensure proper uses and maximum density. 
  • Maintains inventory of repair parts and steel for repair, and orders more materials as needed.
  • Checks equipment daily to assure equipment is in proper operating condition.
  • Quarantines damaged racks in need of repair in specified location.
  • Suggests, creates, and tests improved racking opportunities. Gains feedback for other members on rack issues and suggests improvements.
  • Works with engineering team to coordinate and update drawings of racks.
  • May coordinate’s part trails of new racks. Communicates to paint team to ensure awareness of test racks.
  • Develops and maintains checklists of specific cleaning schedules of equipment and surrounding areas.  
  • Performs inspections and cleaning inside and outside the building around the load station, grinder, trailers, transfer system, dust collection system, plant parking lots, etc per checklists.
  • Works with engineering and maintenance to define equipment preventative maintenance. 
  • Performs operator preventative maintenance on equipment following the preventative maintenance schedule.  
  • Writes work orders for maintenance department if more complex problems arise.
  • Performs minor engineering fabrication projects working from written instructions, blueprints (may include geometric tolerances), sketches, and/or diagnostic skills to enable production to meet schedules.
  • Performs basic welding and fabrication tasks working from written instructions, blueprints (may include geometric tolerances), sketches, and/or diagnostic skills to enable production to meet schedules.
  • Provides support on plant reconfiguration projects.
  • Performs all duties as assigned to meet daily schedule requirements.
  • Respect and follow safety policies and regulations; scan the environment for things that may pose a safety risk; encourage others to utilize safe and healthy work practices.
  • Perform quality work and inspections throughout the production process.
  • Follow all housekeeping standards and complete daily 5S checklists/tasks.
  • Maintains current knowledge and skills in all general carpentry, painting, fabrication, and material handling.
  • Flexes work schedule as business demands; may work more than eight hours per day and/or forty hours per week, including weekends and/or holidays.
  • Cross-train and perform in other job functions as requested.
  • Rotates through department work centers based on business need.
  • Works overtime as needed.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
