Job Overview

We are currently looking for an A+D Sales Manager to join our team in Washington, D.C.

 

As an A+D Sales Manager you will:

Build brand awareness and develop strategies that focus on specification and basis of design within regional architecture and design (A+D) firms.  Assist other Haworth sellers with growing ancillary product sales within their end-user assigned accounts and firms. 

Do you have these required qualifications?

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, architecture, interior design, industrial design, marketing, communications, project management or equivalent.
  • Education Equivalency: Associate Degree in business, communications or interior design plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience


Work Experience:

  • 5 years solution-based sales, design and/or marketing experience, including 4 years’ experience in related industry with Bachelor's Degree.
  • Has established client base with strong relationships with firm decision-makers; proven success history of relationship development, leads generation, and selling design concepts/ideas within design and/or architecture community, including experience conducting one-on-one and group presentations.

Additionally:

  • Ability to work in Washington, D.C. without relocation assistance.
  • Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship.     

Do you have these preferred qualifications?

  • 6 years’ experience supporting Architecture and Design (A+D) firms preferred.
  • Industry affiliation (e.g., International Interior Design Association (IIDA), American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), and American Institute of Architects (AIA) preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Creates and executes business plan by conducting regular and balanced activities with assigned and target A+D firms to capture mindshare, leading to sales development for meeting quota, product mix goals. Utilizes business plan as working document to pre-plan appointments (e.g., research, identify client business models, buying patterns, economic impacts to client), to respond to market changes and/or strategy, and competitive landscape, fulfilling plan requirements and meeting performance objectives. Maintains monthly budget to effectively invest in market activities.  
  • Develops relationships with key stakeholders, including principles, design leadership, designers, project architects, and business development executives at assigned and target firms, fostering trust to create preference of Haworth brand and increase specifications. Engages in business development discussions on opportunities for partnering. Presents product updates and presentations, CEUs, campaigns, and articulates value by sharing knowledge of Haworth's strengths.                 
  • Remains current with economic, financial, social, and cultural news that impacts industry and customers. Networks in assigned market and attends events, interacting with business leaders and influencers to learn of trends and challenges in the market, competitive landscape, and new business development opportunities. Increases brand awareness through social media to communicate campaigns, events, and other information to differentiate on Haworth capabilities.                
  • Creates value in Haworth-dealer relationship. Presents new business leads, partners with dealer designers on leading with Haworth solutions, including best strategy for fulfilling client needs; partners with dealers on A+D events for generating awareness, acceptance, and preference of Haworth brand.                
  • Works closely with other Haworth selling roles to generate ancillary product sales within their assigned accounts.                
  • Actively participates in local professional design organizations, such as International Interior Design Association (IIDA), American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), and American Institute of Architects (AIA).                
  • Effectively manages business plan in CRM (Vine), keeping information current on sales activities, ongoing strategy for sales development, and results for all assigned existing and target accounts, and new business opportunities. Manages expense budget/timely expense reporting adhering to established travel and entertainment guidelines.                       
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job function with/without accommodation.
  • Ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Travels daily in assigned territory up to 70% of time to meet F2F with clients, dealers, and influencers; occasional overnight travel dependent on territory.

Compensation and Benefits

Haworth offers a competitive total rewards package including base salary determined based on the role, experience, skill set, and location. For those in eligible roles, sales incentive bonuses may be awarded in recognition of individual achievements and contributions. Additional details about total compensation and benefits will be provided during the hiring process. This role offers a salary range of 101k to 175k, depending on candidate experience, education, and skill set.
