Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Corporate Security Officer to join our team in Holland, MI. 
 

As a Corporate Security Officer, you will:
Perform professional security services in support of daily operations at Haworth facilities, providing exceptional customer service to all Haworth customers. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established, yet evolving security team in a job environment you can plan to succeed in. The 2nd shift schedule is as follows:

Week 1 (36 hours):
Monday: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Tuesday: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Wednesday: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Saturday: 2:00 PM - 2:00 AM

Week 2 (36 hours):
Sunday: 2:00 PM - 2:00 AM
Monday: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Tuesday: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Wednesday: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

 

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Military Equivalency: https://www.mynextmove.org/vets/find/military
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a security or law enforcement environment. 
  • Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver's license allowing them to drive in the State of Michigan, with an excellent driving record. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • College-level courses in technology security.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Industrial Security or Law Enforcement. 
  • First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain after employment.
  • Advanced medical response certification. 
  • Demonstrated customer service experience.
  • Exposure to and working knowledge of card access, fire protection, CCTV, and building management systems.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong PC and keyboard/mouse skills.

Essential Functions

  • Security System Monitoring: Learns to monitor global fire, security, production alarm, and CCTV systems, and supports member badging and database management.
  • Emergency Response: Responds to fires, medical emergencies, security actions, chemical spills, and natural disasters, securing facilities to minimize injury and loss.
  • Asset and Access Management: Maintains security of assets, members, contractors, and guests, verifying access authorizations to meet C-TPAT requirements.
  • Operational Support: Operates security vehicles, assists members and guests with vehicle issues, and provides transportation for injured individuals.
  • Policy Administration and Investigations: Supports management in policy administration, conducts initial investigations, and produces concise reports.
  • Inspections and Audits: Conducts internal and external inspections, assists with security audits, and ensures emergency equipment readiness.
  • Training and Documentation: Provides first aid and CPR, maintains security documentation, conducts drug and alcohol testing, and assists with database management and reporting.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job function with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

  • Public Safety and Security:  Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
  • Administrative:  Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology.
  • Customer and Personal Service:  Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Coordination:  Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.
  • Service Orientation:  Actively looking for ways to help people.
  • Time Management:  Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Active Learning:  Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.

Environmental / Physical Requirements

  • Work at heights up to 60 feet with lift.
  • Lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • May be exposed to glue, fiberglass, and denatured alcohol.
  • Use hand tools weighing approx. 5 - 10 lbs.
  • Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Moderate exposure to dust, noise, solvent, heat, paint, and lubricants.
  • Driving (3 or 4 wheeled carts, golf carts, fork truck, reach truck, company vehicle).
  • Climb/bend/balance/twist/reach/lift.
  • Repetitive bending & stretching.
  • Regular hand & arm movements.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Climb ladders or stairs.
  • Lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Sitting for extended periods.
