Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Human Resources Business Partner Director to join our team in Holland, MI. 

As a Human Resources Business Partner Director, you will:

Come join a team of energized leaders who report directly to the CHRO – VP of Global Human Resources and be a strategic member of the company’s leadership.  Oversee the Business Partner team supporting these leaders and those in their care, to inspire engagement and help Haworth meet our strategic goals.   You will serve as a champion of organizational management effectiveness and influence the success of our human capital – a true appreciating asset. You will draw heavily on your experience and training to analyze the strengths and needs of the organization. Free to network extensively with other senior managers at all levels of the organization, you will build influential relationships to stimulate change.  In this role you will also be responsible for ensuring our human resource programs are consistently administered in compliance with regulations, company policies and cultural values. In so doing, you will have the opportunity to develop, implement, and administers human resources plans, policies, and programs in support of our strategic objectives and business strategies.

Do you have these required qualifications?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Law or Psychology.
  • 15 years of management experience, including 5 years in Human Resources management.
  • Previous experience working at a manufacturing company or a company with a high volume of front-line workers. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal labor laws
  • Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to travel overnight away from corporate offices, including internationally, up to 10 percent of time.
  • Ability to work in Holland, MI with relocation assistance. 

Do you have these preferred qualifications?

  • Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or Industrial Relations preferred.
  • Litigation or Mitigation experience preferred. 
  • Experience coaching other leaders preferred. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal labor laws for California preferred.
  • Ability to identify key performance metrics for operations preferred. 

 

Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:

  • Working familiarity with human resources knowledge in following areas: change management, conflict resolution, inspiring engagement, terminations, severance programs, performance improvement programs, National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) rules, Department of Labor (DOL) regulations, reductions in force initiatives, union avoidance practices, industrial health and safety programs.
  • Must possess high level understanding of at-will employment laws.
  • Must possess knowledge of employer and employee legal rights, duties, and responsibilities.
  • High level use of negotiation techniques, interviewing skills, and investigative procedures.
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and analytical skills
