Job Overview

 

We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Product Line Management Team in Holland, MI.


As a Product Manager you will:

 

Plan and manage Haworth's wood core storage portfolio within our Private Office and Storage Business Unit to assure successful design, engineering, production, introduction, marketing, and sale of profitable, quality products. Through continuous review and analysis of product line, assures continued overall profitable growth and market position.

Essential Functions

 

  • Manages product line segment and mix to maximize financial performance by defining market size, segmentation needs, and trends worldwide to fully support and promote product line.                
  • Develops product strategy based on market and competitive data worldwide to ensure integration into corporate strategic plan. Determines product life cycle, based on market needs and competition, to establish phase in/phase out plans, with special attention given to inventory control.                
  • Determines feature/function/benefit requirements to satisfy market needs and product strategy. Defines product criteria, including aesthetics, color, and texture considerations, to satisfy customer requirements. Coordinates, with Industrial Design, translation of these criteria into product concepts.       
  • Defines short- and long-term product plans to maximize product line performance, in conjunction with all functional departments; coordinates resources of all functional departments in planning and developing products from concept to introduction to phase out. Serves as project manager for new product development projects.                
  • Determines product cost objective to maximize financial performance of product line and establishes product pricing to maximize product line performance.                
  • Forecasts product volume in total and by its components, in conjunction with Marketing and Sales Departments; monitors direct cost and inventory levels and takes corrective action to maximize product line performance.                
  • Closely coordinates activities that impact other product areas with appropriate Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and product marketing groups to ensure corporate product line strategic goals are met.                
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Required Qualifications

 

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, marketing, or equivalent field of study.
  • Education Equivalency: Associate Degree plus 2 years related exp OR 4 years related exp


Work Experience:

  • 5 years Product Line Management or similar experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the furniture industry.
  • Experience managing a private office, storage, or casegoods portfolio.

  • Ability to bend/move/balance in manufacturing environment, with ability to lift/move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.         
  • Must be able to travel overnight away from corporate offices, including internationally, up to twenty percent of time.
