Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Human Resources Business Partners Supervisor (Northern Plants) to join our team onsite in either Ludington, MI or Big Rapids, MI.  Monthly travel to non-home-based facility and Global Corporate Headquarters in Holland, MI.  
 

As an HRBP Supervisor you will be: 
Independently supporting internal customer group(s) on member relations strategies, programs, services, and solutions designed to enable company to successfully meet business needs.  Functions as both business partner and member advocate between management and members to interpret, administer, and implement corporate policies, procedures, and cultural initiatives.  Works with management to ensure fair and consistent compliance with corporate policies, practices, and objectives.  Supervises and provides guidance to lower level Human Resource Business Partners, typical at remote plant locations.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources or equivalent area of study.
  • Education Equivalency:
    • Associate's degree in business administration, human resources or equivalent area of study plus 2 years related experience or,
    • High school diploma plus 4 years related experience.
       

Experience: 

  • 3 years experience in Human Resources generalist or specialist position or equivalent to provide expertise in variety of disciplines, including employee relations experience; experience counseling and coaching members and managers in HR member relations-related situations; experience with conducting workplace investigations and resolving workplace issues (problem resolution) and reviewing and/or evaluating people for selection and/or programs for appropriateness
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Equivalent Military experience.
     

Additionally:

  • Ability to work in Big Rapids, MI and/or Ludington, MI without relocation assistance.
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.
  • Willing and able to travel monthly to non-home based facility and Global Corporate Headquarters in Holland, MI.  

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM Certification. 
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English).
  • Haworth working experience.
  • Strong MS Office Suite experience. 

Essential Functions

  • HR Business Partners perform specialized HR consulting, working with business leaders to address significant people and cultural issues. They provide expertise in employment aspects such as hiring, termination, performance management, and rewards.
  • Embedded with assigned customer groups, HR Business Partners understand specific business drivers and concerns. They establish and implement action plans to help internal customer groups achieve their goals, ensuring the necessary capabilities and skills within the organization's talent pool.
  • Supports and facilitates cultural change initiatives by training and supporting members and management staff. Utilizes positive influencing skills and various coaching tools, including Leadership Development tools and Haworth Management System (HMS) principles, to ensure values and best practices are applied.
  • Partners with the business and other HR teams to develop key talent initiatives such as workforce planning, hi-potential employee development, and succession planning. Attends to the needs of Production members in engagement, development, and career advancement.
  • Investigates members' concerns and complaints, consulting with senior HR leaders for recommendations and actions. Drives the organization towards a culture of excellence, preparing leaders and teams for organizational change, and ensuring employees feel engaged and inspired to deliver business results.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports: Analyze HR data, generate reports, and identify trends to support decision-making and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Develop HR knowledge: Continuously develop knowledge and stay abreast of best practices in the designated HR area.
  • Ensure compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies within the designated HR area.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, promoting member engagement, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage HR processes: Oversee specific HR processes within a defined area, such as recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, or employee relations.
  • Provide HR support: Provide HR support and guidance to employees and managers on HR-related matters.
  • Supervise a team: Directly supervise and coach a team of HR professionals or support staff, setting performance expectations, providing guidance, and monitoring progress.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job function with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
